Maurice Beane is a 20th century decorative arts dealer, furniture designer, and architectural metalworker who grew up on the Northern Neck in Reedville, Virginia. His design work has appeared in national and international publications including Southern Accents, House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home and House & Garden magazines. Beane was VCU’s 1992 Alumni Star for the School of the Arts. He has won numerous awards and is included in many important private and corporate collections. Among them the Sydney and Frances Lewis collection, Markel Corporation, Media General Inc, Erni Components and VCU-MCV Hospital. Beane is an antiques dealer who became a furniture designer to fund his collecting habit. His specialty is French and Italian design that dates from the art deco period to the late 1980’s.
